WORKING GROUPS

The Santa Barbara County Veterans Collaborative is comprised of multiple working groups.  Members of the collaborative meet on a monthly basis with others in their respective working group to address issues relevant to Santa Barbara County veterans and their military families. At present, there are 3 working groups in formation.

HOUSING & HOMELESSNESS

The members of this working group come from Santa Barbara County's non-profit, private, and governmental agencies, both state and federal. They are dedicated to identifying and addressing systemic housing challenges, educating the community and fostering better coordination of essential services among service providers.

Housing & Homelessness

LEGAL

The legal working group is comprised of active and retired law clerks, paralegals, attorneys and judges. These legal professionals are committed to educating the Santa Barbara County community on laws that affect veterans. This group works to identify and address legal barriers faced by veterans and builds capacity to serve their legal needs.

EDUCATION

The Education working group consists of current and former educators, certifying officials, and veteran resource center personal. The group members have experience working with community colleges, vocational schools, and universities in Santa Barbara County. The individual members of the Education working group are teaming up to create a better educational experience for veterans, their families, and active military members.
